Vicar of Dibley – Readings/Auditions

Although we are in the midst of the pantomime our Spring production follows close behind and now is your chance to get involved.

The readings/auditions for The Vicar of Dibley will be held at the Orpen Hall in West Bergholt at 8pm on both Monday 4th Feb and Friday 8th Feb. You do not need to bring anything with you just yourself and an eagerness to take part. You must be avalible to rehearse on Monday and Friday nights.

The show nights will be on 9/10/11th May 2019.

It is a production based on the classic TV comedy series that sees familiar characters; Vicar, Alice, Jim, Owen, Hugo, David, Frank and Letitia all take to the stage.

ANYONE can come along (although it is an adult cast), however if you have talents or interests that aren’t acting there are plenty of other elements of the theatre to get involved with, whether its set design, painting, sound effects, lighting, prop making, costumes or just making teas come along and be part of a passionate welcoming group.

If you have any questions or would like to be involved but cannot attend the dates please email the director Holly –

We look forward to welcoming you!

  • Hello,

I’m so interested in this audition. I’ve not done any official acting before although I am a public speaker! I’m
Just looking to expand my interests and try something new. I’m a WB resident and have been for 30yrs!!! Do you think I should still come along and see?

Would you mind giving me an idea of commitment time needed should I be successful, just a rough idea?

Look forward to hearing from you

    • Hello Lisa thank you for your message, I am sorry with the delayed reply it has been a very busy time for the group with the panto!
I am directing the Spring play and would love to see new faces join our merry group. The reading is very informal its just meeting everyone, getting to grips with the script and reading different characters. If you are successful in gaining an acting role we rehearse every Monday and Friday evening at the Orpen hall 8-10pm. We may have a couple of weekend rehearsals nearer to the show dates (May 9/10/11th). If you do have holidays booked etc its just a case of letting me know in plenty of time incase it impacts on the rehearsal schedule (you may have some nights off dependent on what we are doing). We are very welcoming and even if you don’t gain a part there are so many other bits and pieces to be involved with so please come along tomorrow night at 8pm and if you cant make that come along on Friday again 8pm.
      Looking forward to meeting you.
