HELP!! The Orpen Players are desperately seeking a PIANIST for their forthcoming panto. Our pianist has had to pull out due to work commitments and we are looking for someone to save the day! We realise it’s late in the day – but our musical director/guitarist can’t be left to go solo!! Rehearsals are Monday and Friday evenings until Performance week – when you would be needed Mon, Tues, Wed for dress rehearsals and then Friday and twice Saturday for performances. (21-26th January) And then second week you would be needed Wednesday 30th jan for a rehearsal and then performances on Friday 1st and two performances Saturday 2nd. We would welcome you with open arms – copious amounts of tea/coffee and biscuits – and bucketfuls of gratitude! Please don’t be shy – YOUR LOCAL GROUP NEEDS YOU!!

  • Re. your search for a pantomime pianist.
I was accompanist to Clacton Amateur Operatic Society (now known as Clacton Musical Theatre Society) for 15 years, during which time I played for such musicals as “Annie” and “Sound of Music”. I also played at a dancing school for 35 years (yes, I’ve got the Bus-pass!) and accompany for Associated Board exams. If I can help at all, please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    Jane Shaw.
